GutsMuths plaque of honor in platinum for Lutz Rösner
24 years ago, at the 4th State Sports Day, Lutz Rösner was elected to the Executive Committee of the Thuringia State Sports Association as Vice President of Competitive Sports. He held this office continuously until last Saturday - with one marginal change. With the abolition of the LSB Presidium's departments and topics in 2018, the term competitive sport was dropped from the title of Vice President, but Rösner has remained true to his dedication to this topic to this day. He did not stand for election again at the 12th State Sports Day last Saturday. Lutz Rösner received the GutsMuths platinum badge of honor for his services to Thuringian sport. The highest award in the Thuringian State Sports Association is only awarded 5 times per calendar year. Lutz Rösner was given a dignified farewell by those present with a standing ovation.
Both in his full-time and honorary positions, Lutz Rösner has worked with enormous professional competence and a high level of time commitment for the interests of club and association sport in Thuringia and in his home town of Jena, has argued and fought for the cause, often critically questioning and always looking for new possibilities and ways with a high degree of reflection. His high level of voluntary commitment was by no means limited to competitive sport.
Rösner is a founding member of SV GutsMuths Jena e. V., was chairman of the Jena Sports School's support association until 2019, a member of the supervisory board of FC Carl Zeiss Jena for several years and a board member of the Jena Football Foundation for a number of years. His reliability, his objectivity, his goal orientation and his conviction regarding the valuable achievements of club and association sports were always profitable and important for the Thuringia State Sports Association and sport in Jena.
